Biography

Dr. Emad Jalal Akawwi is currently working as Associated Professor at Department of Surveying and Geomatics, Al-Balqa Applied University. He has completed his Ph.D. in Hydrology from Goettingen University, Germany. He also appointed as Petroleum Geologist, Natural Resources Authority-Jordan, Geotechnical Engineering and INSITU Group-Lebanon, Geotechnical Engineer at Natural Resources Authority, and Researcher with Project Integrated water resources management in the lower Jordan Valley (SMART). He is member of Central Tender Committee in Al-Balqa Applied University, Jordanian Engineering Association, Jordanian Geologists Association, and Dean Assistant of Faculty of Engineering/ Al-Balqa Applied University. He is also serving as Principal Advisor for undergraduate students. He has published 13 research articles in journals, and 13 presented papers and abstract contributed as author/co-author. His main area of research interest focuses on groundwater and groundwater exploration, surface water, radiation in the groundwater, tectonic and structural of the jordan rift, hazard assessment (sinkholes and earthquakes), aerial photographs, and remote sensing.
