Biography
Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel-Wahab Essa is currently working as Professor of Marine Mycology, Molecular Mycology and Biotechnology Department of Botany and Microbiology College of Science-King Saud University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has completed his Ph.D. in Marine Mycology from South Valley University, Egypt. His main area of research interest related to Molecular Mycology - Ecology and Taxonomy of Aquatic Fungi - Discovery of Bioactive Compounds from Marine and Endophytic Fungi - Ultrastructure of Fungi - Deep Sea Fungi - Ecology of Aquatic Fungi. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed received honors includes JSPS Visiting Researcher, XBR, Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), Japan, Fulbright Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Visiting Researcher under IMG grant from European Commission (TEMPUS), Institute for Biotechnology and Drug-Research (IBWF), University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, and Research Assistantship (Ph.D. student), Biology and Chemistry Department, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. He has published 1 book chapter and 28 research articles in journals contributed as author/co-author.
