Biography

Dr. Nelson Belzile is an Analytical and Environmental Chemist with several years of experience in the fields of Geochemistry and Limnology. Currently he is working as Professor at Laurentian University Canada. He obtained his PhD in Oceanography from University of Quebec (Rimouski) in 1986. He teaches Environmental and Analytical Chemistry. His research interest focuses on Speciation and Behavior of Toxic Trace Elements, Analytical Aspects of Environmental Chemistry, Global Biogeochemical Cycles, Multidisciplinary Approach Research, Analytical and Environmental problems related to the Mining Industry. He is also an invited Professor at the Trent University of Peterborough and at four Chinese Universities. He has published more than 96 scientific papers most of them dealing with the determination, speciation and geochemistry of hydride-forming trace elements, and 14 conference proceedings. He supervised 6 PhD, 13 MSc, 18 BSc, 10 summer students, 10 research assistant, and 3 post doctoral researchers as supervisor/co-supervisor. He is also a reviewer of international journals and member of editor board. His professional affiliations include Canadian Society for Chemistry, The Geochemical Society, American Society of Limnology and Oceanography, Canadian Society for Analytical Sciences and Spectroscopy, International Association of Geochemistry and Cosmo Chemistry.
