Biography

Professor Hossam El-Din M. Sallam Completed his B.Sc in Civil Engineering at Zagazig University in 1985 and received his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Engineering from Zagazig University. He has served as a Teaching Assistant, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and full professor in 2004 at Zagazig University.

He was a visiting Ass. Prof. for two years (1996-1998) in Northeastern University, Boston, USA. He was a Prof. for ten years (2009-2019) at the department of Civil Engineering, Jazan University, KSA.

Since 1990 his research has focused on several issues including fatigue, fracture mechanics, failure analysis, repair and strengthening of structures, advanced composite materials, nanocomposites, and special concretes. He taught several under- and post-graduate courses in Civil and Mechanical engineering at several Universities.
Prof. Sallam supervised a number of graduate students at Civil and Mechanical Engineering in addition to Dentist Materials (more than 30 theses and greater than 100 scientific papers).

Prof. Sallam is a reviewer in several Societies and Publishers such as ACI, RILEM, ICE, KACST, Techno-Press, EJSE, ScienceDirect, Academic Journals, Science Alert.

Prof. Sallam was a member in the following Committees:
Committee No. 50 for Structural & Construction Engineering, Egyptian Universities Promotion Committees (EUPC), Supreme Council of Universities (SCU).
The Examination Committee of the submitted Scientific Production for the State Incentive Awards in Engineering Sciences 2008, General Administration of Awards & Incentives, Academy of Scientific Research & Technology, Egypt.
