Mutiu Adewunmi Alabi, Ph.D. is a Research Scientist at Bioresources Development Centre, National Biotechnology Development Agency, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria. Dr. Alabi has over 25 scientific papers and projects either presented or published. He is an internationally recognized expert in many areas of biotechnology including plant tissue culture, anticancer medicinal plants, molecular cell biology, proteomics/genomics, environmental toxicology, clinical research and drug discovery. He Ph.D. research thesis “Proteins Expression In The Pre-Invasive And Invasive Breast Carcinoma” was carried out in ITSI Biosciences LLC, Johnstown, PA, USA with finding of three transcription factors showing over-expression in invasive ductal carcinoma (IDCA) and if validated in tumour biopsies, could augment existing breast cancer biomarkers and subsequently, lead to better stratification of patients and also, improved prognosis of IDCA. He is currently the Head of Research, Training and Collaboration Unit of Bioresources Development Center, National Biotechnology Development Agency, Ogbomoso, Nigeria. Dr. Alabi holds a B.Sc. (Honors) in Biochemistry from University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Nigeria.. He completed his post doctoral research fellowship in Biotechnology under the guidance of Dr. K. Satyamoorthy, a Professor and Director of School of Life Science, at Manipal University School, Manipal, Karnataka, India.
