Biography

Ekarika Johnson, (Ph.D.) is a Senior Lecturer at Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Uyo, Nigeria and an affiliate of Nigerian Journal of Pharmaceutical and Applied Science Research, and Natural Product Research as Editor and Reviewer since 2011 and 2015 respectively. Dr. Ekarika Johnson has over 20 scientific papers and projects either presented or published. He has interest in tropical medicinal plants from which he has isolated some useful compounds some of which have been published in international Journals. He is a member of professional and research groups like Chemical Society of Nigeria and Science Teachers Association of Nigeria as well as Drug Discovery and Research Group. His recent publications include papers on isolation of triterpenods (Oleanolic, Ursolic and corosolic acids from Aspilia africana). Dr. Ekarika Johnson holds B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from University of Calabar where he obtained the Prize for the best graduating student, M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.
