Dr. Andrea De Montis is currently working as Associate Professor of Rural Buildings and Landscapes at the Department of Agricultural Sciences, University of Sassari, Italy. He obtained his PhD in Urban Planning from Department of Architecture and Urban Planning, Faculty of Engineering, University of Rome, La Sapienza, Italy. He also served as Visiting Professor at different foreign countries. He is also serving as Guest editors of special issues/sections of journals and books, and member and chair of scientific committees. He is member of Italian Regional Science Association, Regional Science Association International, Italian Association of Agricultural Engineers, and member of Directive committee, Desertification Research Center, University of Sassari. He has developed research at the University of Cagliari, Sassari, Rome, Molise, Basilicata, and Institute for Scientific Interchange, Torino, Italy, Northeastern University, USA, Free University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. His main area of research interest focuses on Accessibility and Transport Analysis and Planning, Complex Networks and Spatial Systems, Decision and planning support systems, Energy and Environmental Policy and Planning, Evaluation and Planning, Planning theory and styles, Recovery Policy and Planning, Regional Economics and Planning, Rural Development and Planning, Rural Landscape analysis and Planning, Spatial Multivariate and Autocorrelation analysis, Strategic Environmental Assessment and Landscape Planning Urban, Environmental, and Landscape Planning. His research expertise is documented by the participation to 6 research projects as Principal Investigator/Research unit Principal Investigator. He also presented number of essays at international conferences as invited speaker. He has written more than 39 papers, 25 book chapters and 3 books contributed as author/co-author.
