Biography

Dr. Sugapriya Dhanasekaran is a faculty member in the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences (Pathology) at Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University. She has completed her PhD at the age of 27 years from University of Madras and postdoctoral studies from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, School of Biotechnology. She worked as a Scientist in IIT- Madras to explore stem cell research. She has been a faculty at Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University since 2014. Dr. Sugapriya’s research interests are on development, delivering and discovering drug for anticancer therapy using natural bioactive compounds and nanotechnology based targeted drug delivery for cancer. Conventional drugs, immunotoxin, receptor inhibitors are used in nanoformulation to generate active nanomedicine. For stem cell research developments of new protocols for isolation and induction of bone marrow stem cells into pluripotent for liver diseases with gene alteration. She has published more than 26 papers and chapters in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of reputed international journals.
