Biography

Dr. Aditi Niyogi Poddar is presently working as Professor, SoS in Life sciences at Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur (CG), India. Her main focus of research has been on parasitic diseases, physiology and environmental toxicology of food fishes. She has gained national and international recognition for her studies on the morphological, biochemical and pathophysiological aspects of parasitic diseases, particularly Caryophyllaeidian cestodes and Caryophyllidiasis of Clarias batrachus Linn. Her morphological description of Lucknowia indica sp. nov. and analysis of free and protein amino acids of different species of Caryophyllids have been cited in Advances in Parasitology and various other international books. She has also been cited in international publications for her contribution to population studies of Caryophyllids with reference to the state of Chhattisgarh, India. She is also engaged in works on the various aspects of root knot nematodes diseases and use of fish models as bioindicators of aquatic pollution and the effect of phenolic effluents on them. Presently, she is working on the environmental pathway and human response studies of water borne Fluoride, Arsenic and Mercury. She has published 32 articles in national and international journals.
