Biography

Dr. G. Kranthi kumar is currently working as Head, department of Botany, Kakaraparti Bhavanarayana College, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India. He obtained his BSc and MSc in Botany from Acharya Nagarjuna University. He has completed his Ph.D. on 2018 in Botany from Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, India. He got a gold medal on his post graduation. He started his research work under the guidance of Dr. M. Raghu ram, at Acharya Nagarjuna University in the year of 2009. His dissertation entitled Preliminary biochemical and molecular characterization of rhizobial strains isolated from root nodules of Vigna trilobata. His current area of research focuses on microbial enzymes like Amylase, Chitinase, polygalacturonase and proteases. He has completed one UGC- Major Research project during the year of 2010-2013. A total of 21 local rhizobacterial strains were identified as best nitrogen fixers. Among them 5 Agrobacterium, 8 Ensifer sp., 4 Rhizobium and 4 Non-rhizobium species were also identified as best plant growth promoting rhizobacteria.
Dr. G. Kranthi kumar has got sound knowledge on medicinal plants, i.e. phyto chemical screening and isolation of bioactive compounds which is used for anti cancer, Anti diabetic and Anti inflammatory activity. He got a sound knowledge on legume research and also the area of plant growth promoting characteristics such as Indole acetic acid, Gibberellic acid, Phosphate solubilization, Siderophore and HCN production. Major contribution of the research is on bio films and compound characterization from rhizobacteria. He has got best paper award in the year 2016, for his research paper ‘Bio production of Indole Acetic acid from the root nodules of Vigna trilobata’ from International journal of Biotechnology and research. He was the Editorial board member of world journal of pharmaceutical research, Asian journal of Agricultural research, International journal of microbiology and Biotechnology, International journal of pharmaceutical science and research. He has published 25 research articles in various national and international scientific journals and 2 books to his credit.
