Dr. Cherupally Krishnan Krishnan Nair is currently working as Dean of Research at Pushpagiri Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Thiruvalla, Kerala, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from University of Bombay, India in 1977. His field of specialization includes Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, DNA Repair, Cellular Stress Response, Radiation Biology, Radio Modifiers in Radiotherapy, Radiation Protection. Nanotehnology, Environmental Pollution and Genotoxicity. He also delivered many invited lectures in different national and international Institutes. He is Associate Editor/Regional Editor/and member of Editor Board in many journals. He is professional member of many societies/organizations such as fellow of the Maharashtra Academy of sciences Society of Biosciences, elected life member of National Academy of Sciences, India, member of Indian Society of Radiation Biology, Indian Association for Radiation Protection, Society for Cancer Research and Communications, Association of Radiation Oncologists of India, Society for Clean Environment, International Society for the Study of Origin and Evolution of Life, life member of Environmental Mutagen Society of India, National Society of Ethnopharmacology, Indian Association of Biomedical Scientists, and Indian Association for Cancer Research. His area of research interest related to Radiosensitization and Radioprotection in Cancer Therapy, DNA Repair, Biological activities of natural Drugs and Herbal Extracts, Applications of Nanomaterials in Bio-medicine, DNA-Chemical Interactions, and Regulation Gene Expression in Stress response and Pathological Situations. He has published 222 papers in journals/books and 119 Invited talks and presentations in various international and national Symposia, and 2 books contributed as author/co-author. He is having 48 years experience in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Radiation Biology, and 20 years, teaching Molecular Biology to post graduate students of the University of Bombay. He guided 14 PhD students, 9 PhD currently in his supervision. He also received grants for his research projects.
