I am a veterinarian with extensive experience in Poultry bacteriology and currently pursuing my career as a scientist in research and development (R&D) in the animal health industry focusing on the development of vaccines against important poultry diseases. I have cultivated a deep interest in a career in animal health right from my high school which inspired me to secure admission in a DVM program. During my undergraduate studies, I was fascinated by veterinary microbiology. This prompted me to pursue my post-graduate in Animal Biotechnology working on the application of modern molecular biology to develop diagnostic tools against an important infectious disease of animals, brucellosis. Persistent inclination towards this subject resulted in obtaining another Masters degree in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences from the College of Veterinary Medicine of Virginia Tech. It provided me a great opportunity to delve deeper into the realm of molecular biology, microbiology, and immunology. After working as a Scientist with Pfizer Animal Health (now Zoetis), I begin to understand how to translate my deep knowledge and understanding of Veterinary Science into developing new and improved vaccines against various poultry diseases. I would like to continue my career in R&D in animal health so that I can make a significant contribution towards the development of new and innovative products with a deep impact on animal health across the globe.
