Dr. Obulisamy Parthiba Karthikeyan is currently working as Research Assistant Professor at Sino-forest Applied Research Centre for Pearl River Delta Environment (ARCPE) Department of Biology, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), Hong Kong. He earned his PhD in Environmental Sciences from Centre for Environmental Studies, Anna University, Chennai, TN, India and Post-doctoral Research Fellow at National University of Singapore (NUS). Previously he was appointed as Research Assistant for Project, Junior Project Associate and Senior Project Associate at Anna University, Chennai, TN, India and Senior Post-doctoral Research Fellow at James Cook University (JCU), Australia, and Senior Research Associate at ARCPE, Department of Biology, HKBU, Hong Kong. Dr. Obulisamy received honors includes Session co-chair (B4) in International Conference on Solid Waste 2015, Knowledge Transfer for Sustainable Resource Management, Australia-Thailand Research Exchange Award (Early Career Researcher Award) from the Australian Embassy in Thailand, and Travel Award from the Sino-Forest Applied Research Centre for the Pearl River Delta Environment, Hong Kong Baptist University. He has supervised 2 PhD, 6 Masters Students thesis. His main area of research interest focuses on management of solid wastes and industrial wastewater for developing countries (industrial engineering of metal-rich wastewater treatment/remediation technologies, Anaerobic digestion for landfill bioreactor design and process optimization, Greenhouse gas emission abatement strategies (methane and CO2), Environmental impact assessment for renewable energy projects, Bio-product development from renewable resources and industrial gases and Renewable fuel development and energy storage (microbial oil, methane, alcohols). He has published 2 books, 4 book chapters, and 33 peer-reviewed publications. He also delivered number of presentation in scientific meetings.
