Biography

Dr. Chandrakant Karigar is a Professor in Department of Biochemistry at Bangalore University, Bangalore, India. He completed his PhD in 1994 from Karnatak University, Dharwad in Biochemistry. His area of work includes Microbial Degradation and Plant Secondary Metabolism. Currently he is serving as the Chairman. He has also served as Chairman, Department of Biochemistry at Tumkur University, Tumkur during 2012 to 2014. His current responsibilities includes serving on several Boards & Committee of many Faculties and Higher Education Institute and also responsible for some other local, regional or national missions. He has published more than 75 articles in international and national peer reviewed journals. He is an author of 8 textbooks for Bangalore University graduate student curriculum and has written a few chapters on “Nanobiomaterials”. He is also serving in more than 10 journals as Editor/Reviewer. So far, Dr. Karigar has produced 10 PhD and 100s of MSc Scholars. Now-a-days he is supervising another 5 PhD and 30 MSc students, respectively.
