Biography

Dr. Shaon Raychaudhuri is currently working as Lecturer. She has completed her Ph.D. in Microbial Biotechnology from University of Calcutta, India. She has published 46 research articles in journals, 7 books, and 11 patents contributed as author/co-author. She also participated in 19 Seminar/Conference/Workshop/Training Program and performed presentations. She also completed 15 research projects funded by different agencies. She has supervised 7 students thesis. She is member of Executive Council of Electron Microscope Society, Calcutta Chapter, American Society of Microbiology, Society of Wetland Scientists, American Chemical Society, and life member of Association of Microbiologists of India, and Electron Microscope Society, Calcutta Chapter. Dr. Shaon received honors includes JRF of State DST & NES, Gov. of West Bengal, PDF in Life Sciences and Biotechnology of DBT, India, 30 days Bioinformatics training at Technical University of Munich, Germany as a part of DAAD-DST Exchange Program 30th December 2004 to 30th Jan 2005, 16th position in DST-Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Program 2014, awarded the 4 months Associate ship for young Scientist under the specialized training in NICHE areas of Biotechnology 2007-2008 scheme at Humboldt University, Berlin by DBT 30th June 2008 onwards, and Fellow of the Society for Applied Biotechnology. Her area of research interest focuses on Development of Technology using Microbes for Environmental Protection and Sustenance with emphasis on Biofilm Bioreactors, Developing Techniques for Rapid Diagnosticsa, and Microbial Isolation and characterization at the Genomic Level.
