Dr. Abdul Majeed Muzathik is presently working as Professor and Researcher at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, South Eastern University of Sri Lanka, Oluvil, Sri Lanka. His research is focused in the field of Engineering, particularly in Renewable Energy Technology. Presently, he is involved in the design and development of wave energy converters, wave energy power take off system and also in the design and development of a hybrid renewable energy hydrogen system for electrical applications. Previously he was appointed as Senior Lecturer, Instructor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Maritime Studies, Institute of Technology, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and later appointed as the Head of the same department until 2008, Senior Executive Engineer in the Hingurana Sugar Industries Limited, Sri Lanka. He has completed his PhD. in Renewable Energy, Maritime Technology, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Malaysia. He is also serving as member of editorial board and reviewer for number of journals. He is member of many scientific committees. Dr. Abdul Majeed received honors includes best research paper, Ocean wave height prediction, Seminar Siswazah UMT, Silver Medal awarded at UMT Research Day, and Who’s Who in the World 2012. He also completed number of funded research projects. He has published 60 research articles in journals contributed as author/co-author.
