Biography

Dr. Majid Mirab-balou is currently working as Assistant Professor of Entomology, Department of Plant Protection, College of Agriculture, Ilam University, Ilam, Iran. He obtained his PhD in Agricultural Entomology and Pest Control from Zhejiang University, China in 2011, MSc in Agricultural Entomology from Tehran University, Iran in 2007. His area of interest includes Taxonomy of Thysanoptera, Molecular Systematic and Phylogenetics of Thysanoptera, Biological control of harmful thrips. He currently has a Post-doctoral position at the South China Agricultural University at Guangzhou under the supervision of Professor TONG Xiao-li. This is a 2-year project on the Systematic of Thysanoptera from China, especially those species associated with leaf-litter and dead wood in south of China. He is also a editorial board member in various national and international journals. He has published 9 books, 119 research articles in journals as auhor/ co-author.
