Biography

Dr. Gamal A. El-Hiti is currently working as Professor at King Saud University Saudi Arabia. He obtained his Ph.D. Degree in Organic Chemistry from Tanta University, Egypt in 1996. His employment history includes worked as Academic Visitor, and Research Fellow at Cardiff University, UK, Visitor, Research Officer and Lecturer at Swansea University, UK, Demonstrator, Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Professor at Tanta University, Egypt. His other activities includes Head of the Ethics Committee at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Postgraduate Committee at Optometry Department, Research Centre at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Carried out full duties as the Head for the Postgraduates Committee at Optometry Department, College of Applied Medical Science at King Saud University. He is professional member of Royal Society of Chemistry, and Senior Member of the Egyptian Heterocyclic Chemical Society. Dr. Gamal received honor includes International Author Grant from the Royal Society of Chemistry, and Scholarship from the Egyptian Government to Swansea University, UK for two years as a part of the PhD study. He is also member of editorial board in journals and also serving as referee in number of journals. He also supervised several PhD and M.Phil students. He also received number of grants for his research work. His area of research interest focuses on Synthesis of Substituted Aromatics and Heterocyclic through Greener Synthetic Routes rather than Traditional ones, Synthesis and Application of Chemiluminescent and Photochromic Materials with interesting properties, Use of Organometallic Compounds, especially of lithium and boron, as Intermediates in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Use of Zeolites, Solid-supported Reagents and Polymeric Materials as Catalysts in Highly Regioselective Reactions, Study of Tear Ferning and Osmolarity, and Nanosecond time resolved Laser-spectroscopy Study of Dynamic Interfacial charge Transfers of Organic Dyes. He has published 130 articles in journals as well as 44 presentations in conferences contributed as author/co-author.
